At Attenborough's Legacy, our mission is to protect and preserve the environment and wildlife ecosystems, and to continue the work, vision and passion of Sir David Attenborough. Sir David once quoted that "The best motto to think about is not to waste things. Don’t waste electricity; don’t waste paper; don’t waste food. Live the way you want to live but just don’t waste. Look after the natural world and the animals in it and the plants in it too. This is their planet as well as ours. ". This encapsulates my vision and my desire to achieve real change and carry on the fight for conservation.
My passion for wildlife conservation has been with me since I was born. Of course, that passion as been greatly influenced by inspirational leaders in conservation such as Sir David Attenborough, Steve Irwin, Dian Fossey, Jeremy Wade and many, many others
My name is Dylan Gregory, a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation and welfare. I am a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida, with a degree in Biology, with an emphasis in zoology. My hope is to carry on the work of ecosystem and animal conservation that Sir David Attenborough and many other great leaders and advocates before me have done, so we may finally address the challenge Sir David set us as a species; " The final chapter is ours to write. We know what we need to do. What happens next is up to us. "
The Yellow Stingray(Urobatis jamaicensis), stingrays are some of the most stunning and unique animals we have, so getting to see one in the wild was an amazing experience.
Blue Heron Bridge in West Palm Beach, FL is a famous diving and snorkeling location, one can fully immerse themselves in the wonderful aquatic life that calls this place home. I consider myself lucky that my college offered a scuba certification class though PADI. Being so close to the sea has its benefits!
Red Lionfish(Pterois volitans). This beautiful fish is native to the Indo-Pacific. However they are a very dangerous invasive species in South Florida. Unlike in the Indo-Pacific here they have no natural predators to control them. It is hoped though, through a combination of sportfishing and teaching predatory fish like sharks and groupers to eat lionfish , it will help control this beautiful but destructive invasive species.
You can meet wildlife in the most unusual of places. The Galaapgos Sea Lions are just as confortable in the cities as on the beaches!
