Back home in the great state of Texas!

Texas is the state I call home.  Like Florida, Texas is home to a wide spectrum of wildlife, and hosts some of the country's best zoos and aquariums.  This page shows some of the animal encounters I have been fortunate enough to have made during my time in the Lonestar State.

Striped Bark Scorpions mating ritual!

During a night hike, I found these Two Striped Bark Scorpions engaging in a mating ritual.  Nature is all around us and these small events remind us of the need to take a step back and appreciate all of life's wonders from the smallest scorpion to the largest whale.

Virginia Opossum Shenanigans!

The Virginia Opossum(Didelphis virginiana) is one of the most unique animals we have in Texas.  It is our only Marsupial species found in  the entirety of the United States. While only distantly related to Australian Possums, the Opossum sadly have a very short life span for their size even among marsupials, where 2 years of age is considered old.
